Vocal department of the V International Music Academy

The vocal department within the framework of the International Academy of Music of the Winter International Art Festival in Sochi is a set of educational events for gifted young vocalists, consisting of master classes, lessons, lectures by prominent figures in the field of musical art, and concert performances.
Conducted in order to identify and support creatively promising youth, is an effective form of search and development of young talented artists and vocalists. The vocal department of the Academy of the V International Academy of Music is conducted in accordance with these Regulations (hereinafter - the Regulations). Participation in the Academy means full and unconditional acceptance of these Regulations.

1.1. Organizers of the Academy
Holding of the Academy, preparations and organization is made by Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi (hereinafter WIAFS), artistic director – Yuri Bashmet, executive director – Dmitriy Grinchenko.

1.2. Dates and venue
The Academy will be held from February 16 to February 22, 2020 in the city of Sochi.
Date of arrival in Sochi is February 15; departure of participants is February 23.

The project coordinator on a daily basis will send out the updated schedule.

2.1. Young vocalists from the Russian Federation, Europe and other foreign countries aged from 20 to 35 years old at the time of participation (01.02.2020) can take part in the Academy.

2.2. Participation in the events of the Academy for the participants who passed the concurrent selection is free of charge.

2.3 The list of participants is formed on a competitive basis.

2.4. The participants are obliged to arrive in Sochi on their own accord according to the dates indicated in the invitation sent by the Winter International Festival of Arts.

2.5. The cost of travel (from the place of residence to the venue of the Academy and back), the cost of organizing the accommodation of participants and their accompanying persons, during the period of the Academy, is at the expense of the Academy participant.

2.6. Participation in the events of the Academy for the artists selected to take part in the Academy (concerts, open master-classes) is obligatory.

2.7. Candidates for participation in the open master-classes and concerts will be determined by coaches of the Academy.

2.8. The programs of concerts and open master-classes are composed of the pieces submitted by the participants upon application.

2.9. The participants must be perform all pieces by heart.

2.10. The organizers provide the participants of the Academy with accompanists for the duration of their stay in Sochi.

2.11. The organizers of the Festival and the Academy reserve the right to establish various scholarships for the most talented young musicians, participants of the Academy.

2.12. All master classes and concert in the framework of the Academy are held in open mode with the possibility of public presence at the master classes and concert.

2.13. The organizers provide an educational and cultural program.

2.14. The organizers provide assistance in obtaining visas for foreign participants of the Academy. This includes issuing a visa invitation for a participant to the consular section of the Russian embassy. In turn, the Participant undertakes to send on request all documents and necessary information to the Organizers for obtaining a visa. The cost of a visa shall be borne by the Participant.

2.15. Participants of the Academy receive a pass, giving them the opportunity to attend the events of the Winter International Festival of Arts during the period of the Academy. The pass is personalized and is the property of the Winter International Festival of Arts. Passing a pass to a third party is prohibited. The pass gives the right to attend concerts without a provided seat.

2.16. Upon request of the participants, the organizers will assist in booking a hotel at special prices of the Winter International Festival of Arts.

2.17. The organizers do not provide participants of the Academy and accompanying persons with any types of insurance. Any injuries sustained by the participants of the Academy and accompanying persons, the loss and damage to property during the course of the Academy, are not the responsibility of the organizers.

2.18. The participants of the Academy and their legal representatives, through their participation, confirm that they have no medical contraindications for participation in the Academy.

A condition of participation in the Academy is the performers’ of all relevant musical pieces conclusion with the Winter International Arts Festival cost-free license agreements (article 1308 of the Civil code of the Russian Federation), containing also the indication that to the use of objects of related rights created in connection with participation in the Academy the parties of the contract have agreed to apply Russian law.

The participants of the academy give their consent to the participation in television filming of master - classes, the concert and other events of the academy with the possibility of further use of material for the creation of television programs.

In all other cases not covered by these Regulations and relating to the use of rights to the results of intellectual activity, the organizers and participants of the Academy are guided by the civil legislation of the Russian Federation.

To participate in the Academy, the participant must fill in the online application form on the festival website www.wiafs.ru or send a filled out application form to info@rusconagency.ru before February 01, 2020.

The application form should be sent together with the following documents:
- one digital photo – not less than 300 dpi/2Mb by size (portrait-type, neutral background, artistically performed);
- a copy of passport or any other ID-card (the pages with photograph and personal signature are required)
- a brief artistic biography (1200 to 1300 characters);
- DVD with video recordings or web link for recording of performances made on or after November 1, 2019.
- a permission for processing the applicant’s personal data (in a free form, signed by the applicant)

The application and accompanying documents will not be returned. The application, executed with violation of requirements will not be considered.

All participants and accompanying persons must have an insurance policy of obligatory medical insurance.

In the event of a dispute in interpreting the terms and conditions of participation in the Academy contained hereunder, the Russian text shall be considered as the only correct text.
